Day 3-Parents

Day 3-Describe your relationship with your parents:

My parents are the best! They have always been the most supportive people with everything I do. No matter the mistakes or poor choices I made growing up, they maintained their unconditional love and support.

They have always encouraged higher education. They didn't take any excuses. I had my daughter one week after I turned 17 and they would watch my daughter endless nights so that I could continue my school.

My parents are big on tradition and making family time a priority. They have instilled that in me and my siblings, so needless to say, we've all followed through. My parents always took us everywhere as kids. We hardly stayed with sitters. They always wanted us with them.

All in all, I've always felt their love. I've always felt their support. No matter what I was going through in life, they held my hand when I needed them to or they just stood behind me when I needed them to. They are also the best grandparents and make it to just about all the grandchildren's school events. They hardly miss any!

I couldn't have asked for better parents!

Thanksgiving Blessings

In my family, Thanksgiving comes on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  For my parents, this gives them a day for us to spend together so that we can go and visit the other families on Thanksgiving day.

My mom sets up the table to look fabulous and festive.  Yes, that is a table set for 25.  My grandmothers also join us.
One of the ongoing traditions that my daughter started was when we say prayer, we follow it with everyone going around and saying what they are thankful for from the past year.  Sometimes this leads into us sharing things we haven't shared lately.  Sometimes it brings tears for challenging years.  Sometimes it brings tears of joy for celebratory years.  All in all, it is a special time I look forward to every year.
Forgive the following pictures as they were taken with my Iphone because my camera was full from the weekend and I hadn't had a chance to unload the pictures onto my computer. :(  Here are just a few snapshots from the day.

Another wonderful Thanksgiving Day at my parents home.  Of course, we also watched the intense Texans vs. Jaguars game.  We were all on the edge of our seats with this game.  There was also some silent moments of hope.  However, the Texans pulled through and made it a great day!  Great game Jaguars, but it's a Texans season.  It's Texans turn for the spotlight and boy do they shine!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!  I get to be home relaxing and get to do some "spring" cleaning.  I love getting organized. :)

Ciao!
