Thanksgiving Blessings

In my family, Thanksgiving comes on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  For my parents, this gives them a day for us to spend together so that we can go and visit the other families on Thanksgiving day.

My mom sets up the table to look fabulous and festive.  Yes, that is a table set for 25.  My grandmothers also join us.
One of the ongoing traditions that my daughter started was when we say prayer, we follow it with everyone going around and saying what they are thankful for from the past year.  Sometimes this leads into us sharing things we haven't shared lately.  Sometimes it brings tears for challenging years.  Sometimes it brings tears of joy for celebratory years.  All in all, it is a special time I look forward to every year.
Forgive the following pictures as they were taken with my Iphone because my camera was full from the weekend and I hadn't had a chance to unload the pictures onto my computer. :(  Here are just a few snapshots from the day.

Another wonderful Thanksgiving Day at my parents home.  Of course, we also watched the intense Texans vs. Jaguars game.  We were all on the edge of our seats with this game.  There was also some silent moments of hope.  However, the Texans pulled through and made it a great day!  Great game Jaguars, but it's a Texans season.  It's Texans turn for the spotlight and boy do they shine!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!  I get to be home relaxing and get to do some "spring" cleaning.  I love getting organized. :)

Ciao!

cold and Texans

This cold weather is really getting to me. I use to have a love for cold weather. As I get older, I find that I am more of a summer girl. I miss my warm days. I miss my beach time days. I know when the summer gets near I am probably going to miss the cooler weather, but I won't miss the cold. The one thing I do enjoy about this weather is the enjoyment of a hot cup of coffee. Interestingly, there are two things I started to drink these past few months with the new job-one is sodas and the other is coffee. I'm attempting to slow the soda thing down, but I am enjoying the coffee quite a bit. I haven't crossed over to the Starbucks bandwagon. I don't think I will either. I'm not to fond of the flavored coffees. But we should never say never right? So, I'm excited because our hometown team is on their way...hopefully to the Superbowl! As of now we are two games away. We have a game Sunday and we'll see if we get to move forward. It would be a neat thing to be a part of the Superbowl! Our basketball team made their Championship and won back to back. Our baseball team went to the World Series. We didn't win, but it was such a sweet time to get that far. Now we await our Texans. I have all the faith in them! We'll have to wait and see. Until next time...
