Day 18, Saturday: Tell a story from your childhood. Dig deep and try to be descriptive about what you remember and how you felt.
I remember once wanting these shoes called Yoyos. I wanted them so bad. My dad however was very strict with me. I couldn't have shoes with heels, earrings, nail polish on my nails, my hair cut... You know all those girlie girl things that is practically the norm for all little girls now.
One day my mom decided to get me the Yoyos. To this day, I think she had already checked with my dad whether it was okay...I think? Or maybe not? So, there I go styling my Yoyos (which were simply a shoe with a round heel). My mom takes us to go see my dad at work. He use to work the gate at the Astrodome. We don't get off the car, but just stop by to say hello. My mom says to me..don't let your dad see your Yoyos! Just as we pull up and we roll the window down to say hi to my dad, my big brother yells out "Dad! Michelle got Yoyos!" I gave him a mean look and got so upset. I don't remember my dad even saying anything to me. Ha! My brother was always such a booger, but you gotta love him!
