In my family, Thanksgiving comes on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. For my parents, this gives them a day for us to spend together so that we can go and visit the other families on Thanksgiving day. My mom sets up the table to look fabulous and festive. Yes, that is a table set for 25. My grandmothers also join us.
One of the ongoing traditions that my daughter started was when we say prayer, we follow it with everyone going around and saying what they are thankful for from the past year. Sometimes this leads into us sharing things we haven't shared lately. Sometimes it brings tears for challenging years. Sometimes it brings tears of joy for celebratory years. All in all, it is a special time I look forward to every year.

Another wonderful Thanksgiving Day at my parents home. Of course, we also watched the intense Texans vs. Jaguars game. We were all on the edge of our seats with this game. There was also some silent moments of hope. However, the Texans pulled through and made it a great day! Great game Jaguars, but it's a Texans season. It's Texans turn for the spotlight and boy do they shine!
